Applying for TEC is a straightforward online process. Follow these steps:
- Visit the Official Website: Go to cscentrepreneur.in.
- Access the Login Page: Click on the ‘Login with us’ button on the top right side of the homepage.
- Start Registration: Under the ‘Certificate Course in Entrepreneurship (CCE)’ section, click on Register.
- Fill the Form: Enter your Name, Mobile Number, Email, Father/Spouse Name, State, District, and Address.
- Warning: Keep your Aadhaar card in front of you. Type your name and DOB exactly as they appear on the card.
- Upload Photo: Upload a recent passport-size photograph (under 50 KB).
- Submit & Pay: Enter the Captcha code and click ‘Submit’. You will be redirected to the payment gateway.
- Pay ₹ 1479.72: Complete the payment using your preferred method (UPI is highly recommended for faster processing).
- Generate TEC Number: Once the payment is successful, your TEC Number (e.g., TEC1234567…) will appear on the screen. This is your User ID. By default, your registered mobile number serves as your password.
How to Complete Modules and Assessments
You do not get the certificate immediately upon paying the fee. You must complete the learning modules and pass the tests.
- Dashboard Login: Log in using your TEC Number and Password (Mobile Number).
- Learning Section: Click on ‘Learning’ on the left sidebar. Here, you will find 10 study modules (available in both English and Hindi via PDFs and Videos).
- Assessments: After studying a module, you must take its respective assessment. There are 10 assessments in total.
- Passing Marks: Each assessment has 10 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs). You must score at least 50% to pass.
- Progression Rule: You cannot skip ahead. Assessment 2 will only unlock after you pass Assessment 1. You can take these preliminary assessments on your mobile phone or PC at any time.
Final Online Proctored Exam (Crucial Guidelines)
Once you pass all 10 module assessments, the ‘Take Exam’ button will activate on your dashboard. This is the Final Live Exam.
Exam Technical Requirements:
- Computer/Laptop Only: The final exam cannot be taken on a mobile phone. You need a desktop or laptop running Windows 10 or Windows 11.
- Webcam & Microphone: Your system must have a working webcam and microphone. CSC invigilators monitor you live during the test.
- CSC Secure Browser (SEB): Before starting, the portal will prompt you to download the “Secure Browser”. The exam will not launch until this software is installed.
- Internet: A stable internet connection of at least 1 Mbps is required.
Final Exam Process:
- Click on ‘Take Exam’ in your dashboard.
- Select your preferred language (English or Hindi).
- Hold up your original Aadhaar Card in front of the webcam for identity verification.
- You will be given 50 questions to answer.
- Strict Warning: Do not look away from the screen, do not talk to anyone, and do not try to open other tabs. The secure browser will detect suspicious activity and instantly suspend your exam.
How to Download Your TEC Certificate
The moment you successfully submit and pass the Final Exam, your certificate is generated instantly.
- Log in to your TEC Dashboard.
- Look for the “Download Certificate” link on the right side of the main dashboard.
- Click it to download your certificate in PDF format.
- This certificate will display your Photo, Name, and TEC Number. You can now use this number on register.csc.gov.in to apply for your new CSC ID.
Correction / Update in TEC Certificate
Often, applicants make spelling mistakes in their name or DOB during registration. There is NO online “Edit” button or automated correction form on the TEC portal.
If your name on the TEC certificate does not match your Aadhaar card, you must use the manual email process:
- Draft an email from your registered Email ID.
- Email Subject: Correction in TEC Profile (TEC No: _______)
- Email Body: Clearly explain the mistake made during registration and state the correct details exactly as per your Aadhaar.
- Attachments: Attach a clear scanned copy of your original Aadhaar Card (Front & Back).
- Send this email to: tec.support@cscacademy.org.
- It usually takes 3 to 7 working days for the backend team to update your profile.
Common Problems & Solutions
1. Money was deducted from my account, but I didn’t get a TEC Number. What should I do? Solution: Do not panic and do not pay again immediately. Due to bank server delays, payments can take 24–48 hours to update. If you don’t receive your TEC number via SMS/Email after 48 hours, email the Helpdesk with your bank payment reference/statement.
2. My internet disconnected or power went out during the Final Exam. Is my exam cancelled? Solution: No. If your system shuts down unexpectedly, simply log in again and click ‘Take Exam’. The test will resume from the exact question where you left off.
3. I am getting an “Aadhaar Name Mismatch” error when applying for the CSC ID. Solution: This means your name on the TEC portal and your name on your Aadhaar card do not match 100% (e.g., using “Kr” instead of “Kumar”). You must follow the Correction Process (via email) mentioned above to get your TEC profile updated before applying for the CSC ID again.
4. What happens if I fail a module assessment? Solution: You have multiple attempts to pass the 10 preliminary assessments. You can simply retake the test until you score the required 50%.
Services for VLEs / CSC Operators
- Mandatory Prerequisite: New applicants cannot register on the official CSC portal without first obtaining a valid TEC Certificate Number from this website.
- Existing Operators: Already registered VLEs can access the portal without a new registration by using the “Login with CSC Connect” option through their Digital Seva Portal credentials.

Important Note
- Strict Aadhaar Matching: When registering for TEC, your Name, Date of Birth, and Father’s/Spouse’s Name must perfectly match your Aadhaar Card. Even minor spelling mismatches will cause automatic rejection when you later apply for your CSC ID.
- No Online Correction Form: There is no automated option to correct profile details once submitted. To fix errors, you must manually email the support desk with your TEC number, exact error description, and a copy of your Aadhaar.
- Instant Download: There is no separate application tracking page. Once all module assessments and the final proctored exam are successfully cleared, the TEC certificate is immediately generated and can be downloaded from your login dashboard.
