CSC Services: Digital Seva, VLE Registration & Citizen Services
Under the Government of India’s ‘Digital India’ initiative, Common Service Centres (CSC) are the world’s largest network for delivering digital services to rural and urban areas. Through CSCs, ordinary citizens can access hundreds of essential Government-to-Citizen (G2C) and Business-to-Citizen (B2C) services right in their neighborhood.
Whether you are a citizen looking to avail of a government scheme, or an aspiring youth wanting to start your own business by opening a CSC Center as a VLE (Village Level Entrepreneur), this page is your complete guide. Below, we provide detailed information on major CSC services, the step-by-step process for new CSC ID registration, and the official portal links.
1. What is a CSC (Common Service Centre)?
CSC is a strategic initiative of the Ministry of Electronics and IT (MeitY), Government of India. Its primary goal is to deliver e-Governance, education, health, agriculture, and financial services to citizens, especially in areas with limited computer and internet access. The individual who operates the CSC is officially known as a VLE (Village Level Entrepreneur).
