Jeevan Pramaan Patra: Digital Life Certificate Apply & Download

Every year, government pensioners must submit a Life Certificate to continue receiving their pension without interruption. Previously, this required visiting a bank or treasury in person, but now, with the Government of India’s Jeevan Pramaan Portal, pensioners can generate and submit a Digital Life Certificate (DLC) online from the comfort of their homes.

Jeevan Pramaan Patra 2026: Online Apply, Status, App Download & CSC Guide

How to Apply: 3 Easy Methods

You can submit your Life Certificate using any of the three methods below based on your convenience.

Method 1: From Home via Smartphone (Face Authentication) – Easiest

You no longer need to purchase a biometric fingerprint scanner. Using UIDAI’s Face Authentication technology, you can submit your DLC using a standard smartphone camera.

  1. Download Apps: Download the “Aadhaar FaceRd” app and the “Jeevan Pramaan” app from the Google Play Store.
  2. Operator Authentication: Open the app and first register yourself (or the person helping you) as the Operator using an Aadhaar number and face scan.
  3. Pensioner Authentication: Next, enter the Pensioner’s Aadhaar number, Mobile number, and Email, then click Submit.
  4. Enter Details: Carefully select the Pensioner’s PPO Number, Bank Account, Sanctioning Authority, and Disbursing Agency.
  5. Face Scan: Click on “Scan”. Bring the pensioner’s face in front of the camera and ask them to blink to capture the live image.
  6. Confirmation: Once authentication is successful, a Pramaan ID will instantly generate on the screen, and you will receive a confirmation SMS.

Method 2: Through a CSC (Common Service Centre)

If you do not have access to a smartphone, you can visit your nearest CSC, e-Mitra, or Sahaj center.

  1. Visit the CSC center with your Aadhaar Card, Bank Passbook, Mobile Phone, and PPO Number.
  2. The VLE (Operator) will open the Jeevan Pramaan service via their Digital Seva Portal.
  3. The operator will fill in your pension details.
  4. You will need to place your finger or eye on a biometric scanner (Fingerprint or Iris).
  5. Once verified, the operator will provide you with a printout of your DLC.

Method 3: Post Office / IPPB (Doorstep Service)

For elderly pensioners who cannot step out of the house, India Post offers a doorstep DLC generation service.

  1. Download the Post Info App or visit the IPPB Service Request Portal.
  2. Enter your name, address, and mobile number, and select “IPPB – Jeevan Pramaan” from the service dropdown.
  3. Once the request is submitted, your local Postman or Gramin Dak Sevak will visit your home.
  4. The Postman will generate your Life Certificate using their mobile and biometric device (Service Fee: ₹70).

How to Track Application / Status & Download DLC

After generating the DLC, it is highly recommended to verify whether your bank has accepted it.

  1. Go to the Pensioner Login page on the official website: https://jeevanpramaan.gov.in/ppouser/login
  2. Enter your Pramaan ID (received via SMS).
  3. Fill in the Captcha code and click on Generate OTP.
  4. Enter the OTP received on your mobile and log in.
  5. Your Digital Life Certificate will be displayed on the dashboard.
  6. Click on Download Certificate to save the PDF. This document will clearly state whether your certificate has been successfully accepted by the Disbursing Agency.

Common Problems and Solutions

  • Problem 1: Fingerprints are not matching (Biometric Mismatch)
    • Solution: Fingerprints often fade with old age. In such cases, you can ask the CSC operator to use an Iris (eye) scanner, or simply use the UIDAI Face RD App on a smartphone to authenticate via face scan.
  • Problem 2: “Aadhaar Not Linked” Error
    • Solution: This means your Aadhaar number is not linked to your pension bank account. You must visit your bank branch physically to complete the Aadhaar Seeding process first.
  • Problem 3: SMS or OTP is not arriving
    • Solution: This is usually a temporary network issue. Wait a few minutes and try again. Ensure the mobile number you are entering is active and linked to your Aadhaar.
  • Problem 4: PPO Number showing as Invalid
    • Solution: Older bank passbooks sometimes display incomplete PPO numbers. Contact your bank branch or Pension Sanctioning Authority to get your correct, updated alphanumeric PPO number.

Services for VLEs / CSC Operators

VLEs and CSC operators provide the facility to generate Digital Life Certificates (DLC) for pensioners.

  • VLEs can directly access the Jeevan Pramaan service through their Digital Seva Portal.
  • The VLE must have a registered biometric device (Fingerprint or Iris scanner) to verify the pensioner.
  • Operator / CSC Login via Digital Seva Portal: https://digitalseva.csc.gov.in/
