Kerala Services: e-District Kerala, Land Records & Citizen Certificates

Various administrative, revenue, and welfare services are made available online by the government for the residents of Kerala. Thanks to ‘Digital India’ and e-governance initiatives, citizens of Kerala no longer need to stand in long queues or visit government offices and Akshaya centers for income certificates, caste certificates, nativity certificates, or land records.

You can avail of all these services from the comfort of your home via your mobile phone or computer using the e-District Kerala portal. On this page, we provide a complete, actionable guide to the Kerala government’s most important services, online portals, and application procedures.

1. e-District Kerala Portal (Certificates & Citizen Services)

The e-District Kerala (edistrict.kerala.gov.in) portal operated by the Government of Kerala is the primary digital platform for issuing various revenue and administrative statutory certificates to citizens.

Major Services Available:

  • Income Certificate: Essential for educational scholarships and government scheme benefits.
  • Caste Certificate: Required for social category benefits and reservation criteria.
  • Nativity / Community Certificate: Official proof of being a local resident of Kerala.
  • Other Services: Family Membership certificates, Succession certificates, and various social security pension services.

How to Apply Online on e-District Kerala

  1. Visit the official website: edistrict.kerala.gov.in.
  2. Click on “New User” to create your account (a mobile number and Aadhaar details are required).
  3. Log in using your User ID and Password.

  6. Pay the required government processing fees online. Upon submission, you will receive an Application Reference Number, which you can use to track the real-time status of your application.

2. Kerala Land Records & Revenue Services

Land records and land revenue details are maintained and made available online by the Revenue Department, Government of Kerala.

  • RoR (Register of Rights): RoR is a crucial document in Kerala for verifying land ownership, survey details, and subdivision records.
  • Online Land Tax Payment: Citizens can conveniently pay their annual land revenue tax online from home.
  • How to Check: You can visit the official Revenue Department portal of Kerala (revenue.kerala.gov.in) or the Land Revenue portal to view land records and manage tax payments by selecting your district, taluk, and village.

Common Problems & Solutions

  • e-District Kerala Login OTP Issue: If you experience delays receiving an OTP on your mobile phone while logging into the portal, check your network connection or try again after some time.
  • Application Pending at Village Office: If your application shows as pending at the local Village Office for an extended duration, you can contact the respective Village Officer for physical document verification.
  • Payment Gateway Failure: If money is debited from your bank account during online fee payment but a receipt does not generate, wait 24 hours. The system automatically reconciles and updates transaction statuses.
